Community Service Scholarship: Got turned down
as an agenda item but will present as a public presentation Wednesday 18th
@ 6:00p.m. Committee will meet at Jessica Clayton’s house beforehand @ 5:00.

*After reading the minutes we need some volunteers to work at
station 1 with Victoria Price, station 2 with Marshall Price. If you would like
to volunteer please text Jessica Clayton or e- mail adviser Mark Randall.
Any extra help for the pumpkin walk would be highly appreciated. We
appreciate everyone that helps serve on the West Haven Youth City Council.
Remember that we are having a contest between the youth’s booths to see whose
is more creative the winner of the booths will receive movie tickets so be
creative!

Youth Council presents 2010 Pumpkin Walk at the Country Park

On Monday, October 25th, the West Haven Youth Council sponsored an evening of festivities with the annual Pumpkin Walk. Children were invited to walk an enchanted trail, lit by over 500 softly glowing Jack O' Lanterns.

Council members setup candy display stations along the way for those spirits walking the path and seeking a treat. Council members McKenna & Kaylee were the first station volunteers. The Youth Council appreciates the community service of the students & administration from, Country View Elementary, Rocky Mtn. Jr. High, West Haven Elementary, Quest Academy & Kanesville Elementary. Their support makes the Pumpkin Walk possible. Thank You, Thank You. The Council would like to also thank the adult volunteers for their time & talents.

NOVEMBER: Youth Council meeting, November 11, 5 p.m. @ West Haven City offices,

AGENDA: Evaluate pumpkin walk event & budget. Discuss date & plan for December service project.

DECEMBER: Youth Council meeting, Dec. 9, 5 p.m. @ City offices.
AGENDA: Review of December service project. Preliminary plans for February activity.

JANUARY: Council meeting, January 13, 5 p.m. @ city offices.

Pumpkin Walk October 29

Hey youth council members meet at the West Haven Park tomorrow October 29 at 3:00 to set up for the pumpkin walk! Remember to bring stuff for your station and we will not have electricity for you to use if you didn't tell Mark (advisor) that you needed it! If you need to know your station number check your e-mail and if you didn't recieve the e-mail you can text Shaylie Stephens, Caden Hess, or call Mark. There will be dinner for the youth council members at 5:30 and the walk will start at 6:00 p.m you may want to bring a flash light, gloves, and a coat it is going to be cold! We will start clean up at 8:15! We would also like to welcome our new youth council members Marshal and Victoria Price & Kelci and Kabrle Maples!

Dry Erase Boards & Pens Donated to Local Elementary Schools

Above: Council Co-Mayor Krissie Wilson, Principal Newton of West Haven Elementary & Shaylie Hess, Co-Mayor. . . . The youth council spent November & December gathering materials and fabricating 400 dry erase boards for Country View, West Haven, Quest and Kanesville Elementary schools.Council members contacted a few lumber stores requesting quotes for white board material and cutting it into 12" x 12" squares. Lowe's Riverdale provided the very best price. Colored duct tape was purchased and the council worked an evening taping the white board edges and boxing 100 boards & markers to go to each school. A little over 70 hours of community service was provided and the council received over 100 thank you cards from the school students.
